Arizona Population 2013

The United States Census Bureau estimates that the population of Arizona in 2013 was 6,553,255, which is ranked the 15th largest population in the United States. This estimate shows a 2.5% increase since the last census in 2010, also conducted by the United States Census Bureau. The population density of the state is 57 people per square mile, ranked the 33rd largest density in the United States.

The population of Arizona is expected to reach 6.78 million people by the year 2015, which is an approximate 3.5% increase from the current population. By the year 2020, the population is expected to reach 7.49 million people, which is an approximate 14.3% increase from the current population. By the year 2025, the population is expected to reach 8.17 million people, which is an approximate 24.7% increase from the current population. By the year 2030, the population is expected to reach 8.85 million people, which is an approximate 35% increase from the current population. By the year 2035, the population is expected to reach 9.54 million people, which is an approximate 45.6% increase from the current population. By the year 2040, the population is expected to reach 10.22 million people, which is an approximate 56% increase from the current population. By the year 2045, the population is expected to reach 10.89 million people, which is an approximate 66.2% increase from the current population. Arizona Land Mass

The greatest distance of the state of Arizona from east to west is 337 miles and the greatest distance from north to south is 389 miles with a square area of 114,006 square miles, making it the 6th largest state in the country. Of the 114,006 square miles, only 364 square miles are covered by water. The highest point in the state of Arizona is Humphrey’s Peak, which is northwest of Flagstaff, reaching 12,633 feet above sea level. The lowest point in the state is at the Colorado River, which reaches 70 feet above sea level. The geographic center of Arizona is located in Yavapazi County, 55 miles east southeast of Prescott. Arizona is bordered by four states: Utah, California, Nevada, and New Mexico. Arizona also shares a border with the country Mexico.

Arizona is broken up into three distinct geographic land areas: the Colorado Plateau, the Transition Zone, and the Basin and Range. The Colorado Plateau covers 40% of the state in the north. The majority of this area is flat, but places like the Grand Canyon and Humphrey’s Peak also show up. The Transition Zone is to the south of the Colorado Plateau and it is filled with mountain ranges and valleys. The Basin and Ridge Region is to the south of the Transition Zone. This area is full of mountain ranges, but also with occasional low fertile valleys that separate the mountains. These valleys, assuming there is enough rain or water, are good for growing crops.

Of the approximate 6.55 million people in the state of Arizona, about 50.3% of the population is female, while 49.7% is male. Also, approximately 84% of the population identifies as white (including Hispanic or Latino). But, out of that 84%, about 30% do identify as Hispanic or Latino and the other 54% as Caucasian. Those that identify as Black or African American make up only 5% of the entire population of the state of Arizona. The rest of the population is made up of those that identify as Asian, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Hawaiian, other Pacific Islanders, or those that identify as two or more races. These other races make up about 11% of the Arizona population.

The population of Arizona identifies as religious at a rate much lower than the national average. About 37% of the state population identifies as religious, compared to the national average of 49%. Out of the 37%, about 15% identify as members of the Catholic Church, making it the largest denomination in the state of Arizona. All the other Christian denominations make up about 20.7% of the population. Those who identify as Jewish, Islamic, or Eastern religions only make up 1.3% of the population.

The state of Arizona has professional teams in four of the major sports: hockey, baseball, basketball, and football. Arizona’s team represented in the National Hockey League is the Phoenix Coyotes. The Coyotes are based out of Phoenix and play in the Jobing.com Arena. The Coyotes were founded in 1996 and used to be the Winnipeg Jets. Arizona’s team represented in Major League Baseball is the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks are based out of Phoenix and play at Chase Field. Arizona’s team represented in the National Basketball Association is the Phoenix Suns. The Suns are based out of Phoenix and play in the US Airways Center. Arizona’s team represented by the National Football League is the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are based out of Glendale and play in University of Phoenix Stadium.

Indiana Population 2013

The United States Census Bureau estimates that the population of Indiana in 2013 was 6,537,334, which is ranked the 16th largest population in the United States. This estimate shows a 0.8% increase since the last census in 2010, also conducted by the United States Census Bureau. The population density of the state is 182 people per square mile, ranked the 16th largest density in the United States.

The population of Indiana is expected to reach 6.85 million people by the year 2020, which is an approximate 4.8% increase from the current population. By the year 2030, the population is expected to reach 7 million people, which is an approximate 7.1% increase from the current population. By the year 2040, the population is expected to reach 7.2 million people, which is an approximate 10.1% increase from the current population.

The state of Indiana is approximately 270 miles long and 140 miles wide with a square area of 36,420 square miles, making it the 38th largest state in the country. Of the 36,420 square miles, only 550 square miles are covered by water. The highest point in the state of Indiana is Hoosier Hill in Franklin Township, reaching 1,257 feet above sea level. The lowest point in the state is where the Wabash River meets the Ohio River, which reaches 320 feet above sea level. The geographic center of Indiana is located in Marion County, 14 miles north northwest of Indianapolis. Indiana is bordered by four states: Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, and Illinois. Lake Michigan borders the state on the north.

Indiana is broken up into three distinct geographic land areas: the Great Lakes Plains, Till Plains, and the Southern Plains and Lowlands. The Great Lakes Plains is in the northern part of the state. The most northern part, near Lake Michigan, is made up of sandy dunes. To the south of the sand dunes is area with black soil, which is very good for farming. The Till Plains are to the south of the Great Lakes Plains. This area is part of the Midwestern Corn Belt and is made up of fertile land. The highest point in the state is located in the Till Plains. Lastly, the Southern Plains and Lowlands is in the southern part of the state. There are many steep hills divided by lowlands and also some caves and caverns. This part of the state is the hilliest part of the state.

Those that identify as Black or African American make up only 9% of the entire population of the state of Indiana. The rest of the population is made up of those that identify as Asian, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Hawaiian, other Pacific Islanders, or those that identify as two or more races. Wisconsin Population 2013

The population density of the state is 105 people per square mile, ranked the 23rd largest density in the United States.

Wisconsin is broken up into five distinct geographic land areas: Lake Superior Lowland, Northern Highland, Central Plain, Eastern Ridges and Lowlands, and the Western Upland. The Lake Superior Lowland is in northern Wisconsin and is made up of flat plains, extending about 20 miles inland from Lake Superior. Northern Highland makes up most of the northern potion of the state. It lies below to the south of the Lake Superior Lowland and makes up about a third of the state. Many forested hills and lakes make up this area. The highest point in Wisconsin is in the state. Central Plain is to the south of the Northern Highland and in the central portion of the state. The Wisconsin Dells is located in the southern part of this area, which is made up of buttes and mesas. The Eastern Ridges and Lowlands are to the east of the Central Plain. This area is made up of rolling hills and the richest agricultural terrain. Lastly, the Western Upland is to the west of the Central Plain. This area lies along the Mississippi River with limestone and sandstone bluffs along the river. Also, the southwestern part of it is home to steeply sloped ravines and winding ridges.

Lastly, the Appalachian Plateau is the furthest east portion of the state, made up mainly by the Allegheny Mountains, which contains the highest point in the state. This area is heavily forested and full of low valleys.

Pennsylvania Population 2013

Based on estimates and the studies by the United States Census Bureau, the population of Pennsylvania in 2013 is estimated to be 12,763,536, which is the 6th largest population in the United States. This growth displayed a 0.5% increase from the last census taken in 2010. Based on the population and based on the area of the state, the population density of the state is about 284 people per square mile, ranked the 9th largest population density in the United States.

Pennsylvania Population Projections

Based on the historical and current trends of the state, the population is expected to reach about 12.55 million people by the year 2015. This population would be a 1.6% decrease from the current population of Pennsylvania. Then, by the year 2020, the population is not expected to continue that decreasing trend. It is expected to reach 12.646 million people, which is still a decrease from the current population, however. This would be a 0.93% decrease from the current population. Continuing a slight increase, the population is expected to reach 12.71 million people by the year 2025, recording a population decrease of 0.28% from the current population. Then, by the year 2030, the population is expected to decrease again. The total population is expected to be about 12.704 million people, which is a 0.5% decrease from the current population.

Pennsylvania measures from its most distant points to be about 283 miles from east to west and 160 miles from north to south. The state also has an approximate area of 46,058 square miles, making it the 33rd largest state in the country. About 1,239 square miles of the state are covered by water, compared to the approximate 44,820 square miles covered by land. Mt. Davis has the highest elevation point in the entire state of Pennsylvania. It reaches an approximate 3,213 feet above sea level. The lowest point in the state is at the Delaware River, which reaches sea level. The geographic center of Pennsylvania is located in Centre County, 2.5 miles southwest of Bellefonte. Six states border Pennsylvania: New York, New Jersey, Ohio, West Virginia, Delaware, and Maryland. Lake Erie also borders the northern border of the state.

Pennsylvania is made up of four distinct geographic land areas: Allegheny Front, the Lake Erie Lowlands, the Piedmont, and the Coastal Plains. The Allegheny Front is where the Allegheny Mountains cut a diagonal line across the state. To the northwest of the Front is the Lake Erie Lowlands. This is where the plateaus of the Allegheny Front fall down to lowlands that eventually run into Lake Erie. To the southeast of the Front lie the Piedmont and Coastal Plains regions.

The state has two teams represented in Major League Baseball, one out of Philadelphia and one out of Pittsburgh.
